Following a radical redesign last year, the F-150 returns with some important updates. Find out what improvements Ford has made to the new 2016 F-150, coming to the Dallas area this winter.

Debut of New “Limited” Trim
F-150 is tough, but its new Limited trim proves that it can be pretty suave, too. The 2016 Ford F-150 Limited represents the apex of luxury for the lineup, offering handsome Mojave leather upholstery, fiddlewood eucalyptus trim, a satin-chrome tailgate and grille, chrome exhaust tips and a specially designed instrument cluster, among other exclusive features.

New CNG/Propane Gaseous-Fuel Prep Package
If you want the flexibility (and efficiency) of using propane or compressed natural gas with your F-150, the new 2016 model will allow you to do so. It’s available with a CNG/propane prep package on models with the 5.0-liter Ti-VCT V-8 engine, and you won’t lose any towing capacity if you choose to equip the truck with it.

New Segment-First Pro Trailer Backup Assist Feature
Backing up an F-150 with a trailer attached will be easy as cake with the available new Pro Trailer Backup Assist Feature. It seriously looks like it’ll make maneuvering with a trailer while going in reverse much easier, eliminating time-wasting corrections and so on. See how it works in the video to the right.

New Special Edition Packages for XLT & Lariat Trims
Exclusive package content is one of our favorite things, so this news is exciting. 2016 F-150 XLT and Lariat trims will be available with new Special Edition packages that include features like upgraded grilles; special seats with red bolsters; red contrast stitching on the seats, steering wheel, gear selector boot and instrument panel; 20-inch aluminum wheels; and smoked headlamps.

New SYNC 3 Infotainment Interface
The former SYNC with MyFord Touch system is no longer offered the 2016 F-150. Instead, it’ll get Ford’s all-new SYNC 3 system, which offers faster running speeds, swiping to scroll, pinching to zoom in or out, and enhanced voice recognition technology that better understands natural speech.

Additionally, two new colors have been added - Shadow Black and Lithium Gray - which replace similar shades from last year. Plus, the F-150 will receive a Sport Mode about which Ford says, “An advanced feature of F-150's six-speed automatic transmission is its ability to match engine rpm as it downshifts in slowing for a corner. Electronics calibration for this feature comes straight out of Mustang.”
