Debating between a Fiesta ST and Fiat Abarth, but just can't decide? Then take Steven Ewing's recommendation. The Autoblog.com writer loves hot hatchbacks and the ST is his favorite. By the way, there is a pretty substantial difference in their powertrain specs. Where the ST gets 197 horsepower and 202 lb.-ft. of torque with a turbocharged engine, the Abarth gets 160 horsepower and 170 lb.-ft of torque with an inline-four. When it comes to fuel economy estimates, the cars are virtually identical, which means that with Fiesta you'll get more power without forfeiting efficiency.
In addition to the above quote, Ewing even goes as far as to say that the ST makes drivers feel at one with the car and that every control will feel like an extension "of your own being." We're sure hot hatch enthusiasts will agree, and if you've never test driven the ST, we hope this quote will persuade you to come try it out!
"The interior overall is an issue here [with the Abarth] - it's cramped, the rear seats are pretty much unusable, and there's barely any trunk space. Compare that to the Ford, and you've got a car you could easily live with as a daily driver."
