Not only does Ford Motor Company create next-generation vehicles but now they’re working on an initiative to help bring STEAM education to the next generation. The program is called The Ford STEAM Box; their goal is to create dialogue with students about what it’s like to think like a “Ford engineer,” or to explore other STEAM career possibilities for their future.

This award-winning educational kit line is intended for youth 8 years old and up. The interactive box is delivered right to their front door with no fee when they sign up. Ford hopes that it will encourage and promote science, technology, engineering, the arts and math across the country.

The Ford STEAM Box includes an assortment of thought-provoking exercises that ultimately craft the Ford Mustang GT model. The different missions the students complete include: designing a vehicle frame out of origami and kirigami modeling, working with copper tape which is able to conduct electricity to generate a working motor, and creating headlights and taillights using LED lighting.

The Ford STEAM Box is just one of the many ways Ford is trying to collaborate and bring education to America’s youth. For more information on the different education-concentrated programs Ford is launching around the country, check out the following website – fordsteamexperience.com.
