Ford recently kicked off a new pilot program looking to bring healthcare, education, and resources to people in rural areas who might otherwise not have access to them. This includes things as simple as water, and as complicated as knowledge of vehicle repair.
While Project Better World touches on many individual projects dedicated to improving community life, education, and driving safety across the country and across the globe, this new pilot has a much bigger vision.
By partnering with organizations like World Vision South Africa, and social entrepreneurs from all across the industry, Ford hopes to use their legacy of vehicle innovation and engineering for the greater good. Learn more here:
If you heard the phrase "Ford Ranger" in this video, you're not mistaken. Ford did use custom-upfitted trucks to help in their pursuit of exploring the mobility of resource-sharing.
The Ranger, while discontinued a few years back for the US market, is still prevalent in the UK and other parts of Europe, and may actually be making a return to our neck of the woods. According to some sources, Ford will be releasing a new Ranger pickup truck as early as 2017, but more likely 2018 or later.
