On Aug. 23, 2014, Grapevine Ford Lincoln accepted an Ice Bucket Challenge to help spread awareness about amyotrophic lateral sclerosis, otherwise known as ALS, and also commonly referred to as Lou Gehrig's disease. Unless you've spent the last six months in a cave, you've probably heard about the challenge. From Lady Gaga to Ben Affleck, everyone's been doing it and recently the craze took over Grapevine!

When another local dealership dared us to participate in the Ice Bucket Challenge, we weren't going to pass up the opportunity to show our support for a great cause. Led by Grapevine Ford's General Sales Manager, Tony Gonzalez, several members of our crew endured a huge ice-cold splash of water, which was dumped on them from a front-end tractor loader. And that thing could hold a lot of ice and water as you can imagine!

Along with Tony, we'd like to give a shot out to the other Grapevine Ford team members who participated, including: New Car Director, David Klett; Pre-Owned Sales Manager, Thaddeus Carrena; Pre-Owned Assistant Sales Director, Norm Nguyen; and New Car Assistant Sales Managers, Jeff Stone and Josh Moore.

We are proud to help broaden awareness about a lethal disease and thank you all for representing Grapevine Ford in this show of support for the ALS Association!

About Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis
ALS is a neurodegenerative disease that affects spinal cord and brain nerve cells. When it progressives, the disease leaves many patients completely paralyzed. ALS affects over 30,000 Americans and has cut short the careers of many notable individuals, including musician Lead Belly (Huddie Ledbetter), golfer Jeff Julian, soccer player Jimmy Johnstone and Hall of Fame pitcher Jim "Catfish" Hunter, among numerous others.

If you would like to support ALS, please consider making a donation to the ALS Association or participate in the Ice Bucket Challenge!
