The all-new 2016 Ford Focus RS is one bad mother (shut your mouth). Can ya dig it? The hot hatch has never been sold in America before and now that it’s finally planted rubber on red, white and blue pavement, automotive journalists and other car enthusiasts can’t wait to get their hands on it, and that includes us here at Grapevine Ford! RS is like the ST but on steroids, beefed up and flaunting a Mustang engine and insane new AWD drivetrain system.

Focus RS just officially debuted a few days ago, so more details are finally available regarding what type of features shoppers can expect when it goes on sale either later this year or early in 2016. First, unlike the previous European model, the new 2016 Focus RS will get that Mustang engine we were just talking about. It’s a mean all-aluminum 2.3-liter EcoBoost that’ll produce well over 315 horsepower.

Also, unlike the previous front-wheel-drive RS, the new model will offer a state-of-the-art Ford Performance All-Wheel Drive with Dynamic Torque Vectoring system. Its title is a mouthful, yes, but it’s an important part of the RS’ performance. It’ll greatly increase tire grip, especially when cornering and according to Ford it can send all the car’s power to one wheel! The system also makes understeer pretty much non-existent.

On the interior, the 2016 Ford Focus RS will have sharp Recaro seats, SYNC connectivity, a high-def 8-inch touch screen, rearview camera and much more. Outside its styling is aggressive and clearly hints at the car’s super sporty performance. There’s a big, menacing grille and prominent back spoiler, integrated dual-exhaust tips and side sills. Available paint colors will include Stealth Gray, Frozen White, Nitrous Blue and Absolute Black.
