If you own a C-MAX Energi, Fusion Energi or Focus Electric, Ford has made it possible for you to access information like your battery charge status, mileage and other data from your wristwatch. Plus, performing remote vehicle functions is included in the fun.
Apple Watch owners and those sporting the Moto 360 or other Android Wear smartwatches can download the MyFord Mobile App update to try the new functions. The app now offers smartwatch support and is said to display perfectly on both round and square watch faces.
When you want to find local charging stations or need walking directions back to your car, after forgetting where it’s parked in a crowded lot, you can use the MyFord Mobile app from your wristwatch instead of having to pull your phone out.
Features of the app include the following and more:
- Range and charge status for battery, notifications when charging is complete
- Ability to precondition cabin temperature remotely, to cool or warm car before stepping inside
- Remote lock/unlock capability
- Vehicle mileage summary
- Last trip summary with data including personal driving score, EV miles used, gas miles used, etc.
- Convenient vehicle locator with ability to provide walking or driving directions to a parked car
- Estimated driving range enables users to determine available miles before going on a trip
