Ford Motor Company and DTE Energy have the largest renewable energy from a utility in U.S. history. The companies have agreed to purchase more than 1,000 megawatts (MW) of solar and wind energy. It will come from DTE Energy's Michigan utility. It will make the companies the largest users of renewable energy in Michigan.
The 1,000 MW of renewable energy Ford and DTE Energy are purchasing is enough to power more than 260,000 homes. It will also offset the emissions from 700,000 gasoline cars.
