Ford Supports First Responders and Community During Los Angeles County Wildfires

The wildfires that recently swept through Los Angeles, CA, left a trail of devastation, rendering many residents homeless and numerous businesses ruined. Even with the heavy toll of these fires, the auto industry—including the classic American automaker Ford Motors—has stepped in to support the local community. Ford has introduced measures designed to assist impacted residents and first responders as they embark on recovery and rebuilding.

How is Ford Helping?

Dealers in 13 Western US states and Ford Philanthropy have donated to the California Community Foundation's Wildlife Recovery Fund. Their $465,000 contribution is intended to equip local organizations in California with the supplies and resources needed to help community members. The funds from Ford and its philanthropic branch also benefit the Los Angeles Fire Department Foundation. In addition to supporting the larger LA community, Ford is helping displaced individuals by offering reduced prices on Ford vehicles and deferred payment options. Ford also provides free electric chargers to customers who purchase an electric vehicle, and its employees are given paid time off to aid in wildfire recovery.

What Organizations Does Ford Support?

Ford's contributions are benefiting several organizations in the LA area. The American Red Cross, Feeding America, World Central Kitchen, and Team Rubicon are among those receiving support from Ford's donations. Collectively, these organizations offer ongoing assistance to LA wildfire victims as they work to rebuild following the fires. The Red Cross continues to supply shelter and vital necessities to those displaced, while Team Rubicon is offering longer-term resources as victims wait for their homes to be rebuilt or restored. Both Feeding America and the World Central Kitchen are committed to providing meals and food to affected residents.

Special Electric Vehicle Support

For residents within the FEMA disaster area, owners of Ford and Lincoln vehicles qualify for special Ford incentives. This program includes reimbursement for all-electric vehicles charged at a charging station from January 7 - 31. Local Ford dealerships also provide free charging adapters to customers who have lost their homes or are using an electric vehicle to support disaster relief efforts. Additionally, Ford is offering free replacements for customers whose home charging stations were lost in the fires.
