Specs at a Glance

The 2025 Ford Escape is still among the most popular small crossovers. Its eye-catching style, comfort, and modern technology make it a driver favorite. Shoppers often narrow their choices down to the Escape Active or the Escape Platinum. Let's see how these trims differ.

Performance

The Escape Active is powered by a 1.5-liter EcoBoost three-cylinder engine that generates 180 horsepower. The auto stop-start system improves fuel efficiency, and an eight-speed automatic transmission ensures smooth shifting. Front-wheel drive is standard, though all-wheel drive is optional.

If you're seeking a boost in performance, the Escape Platinum is equipped with a 2.0-liter EcoBoost four-cylinder engine, producing 250 horsepower and 280 lb-ft of torque. It offers faster acceleration and can tow up to 3,500 pounds.

Appearance

The Escape Active's sharp design is hard to miss. LED headlights and 17-inch alloy wheels are standard, while chrome exhaust tips add a sporty touch. Six exterior colors are available, including Rapid Red Metallic Tinted Clearcoat and Carbonized Gray Metallic.

The Escape Platinum takes things up a notch with 19-inch machine-face wheels, LED fog lights, and distinct headlights that set it apart.

Features

The Escape Active comes loaded with features, including an 8.0-inch touchscreen running SYNC 4, which offers wireless Apple CarPlay/Android Auto. Ford Co-Pilot360, dual-zone automatic climate control, Intelligent Access with Push-Button Start, and a 4G LTE Wi-Fi hotspot are also included.

Opt for the Escape Platinum, and you'll get a larger 13.2-inch touchscreen with Connected Navigation, a 360-degree camera, and Evasive Steering Assist. Other upgrades include heated front sport seats, a digital gauge cluster, wireless charging, and adaptive cruise control.
