Ford Focus Highlights

Ford challenges the idea of what a compact car can be with the Focus sedan and hatchback. While there's a large pool of competitors to choose from, KBB.com's 2017 Ford Focus review says you'll like this car if you want "a little sizzle with your steak. . . great styling, impressive handling and some of Ford's best high-tech features." Edmunds.com's 2017 Focus review echoes the same sentiments and states that the gas-powered Focus models are "right in the mix of the segment's best."

This year, the Focus lineup gains a new SEL package, which includes a power moonroof, 17-inch machined-aluminum wheels with black-painted pockets, black headlight bezels and fog lights. There's also a new White Gold paint color.

Focus Trim Levels & Key Features

From the super-efficient to the super powerful, there's a variety of trim levels, including the S, SE, SEL, Titanium, ST and RS. Also, for a compact car, Focus is packed with standard amenities like SYNC with voice recognition, Bluetooth, a rearview camera, smart-charging USB ports, keyless entry, Ford MyKey and more. Ford Focus Powertrain Specs

The 160-horsepower 2.0L four-cylinder will get you an EPA-estimated 27 city/39 highway mpg with an automatic transmission or 26/36 with a manual. You can also choose the optional 123-hp EcoBoost three-cylinder and get 28 city/39 hwy with an automatic or 30 city/41 hwy with a manual.

We also highly recommend test driving the 2017 Ford Focus ST and RS in Grapevine. The ST gets a 252-hp 2.0L EcoBoost that achieves 22/30 mpg, while the ultra-high-performance RS gets a 350-hp 2.3L EcoBoost capable of reaching 19/25 mpg.

Focused Safety Features

The Focus offers a wide range of smart safety technologies, including but not limited to lane-keeping system, blind spot monitoring with cross-traffic alert, and traction and stability control. In addition, the car offers active park assist, which not only uses 12 ultrasonic sensors to scan for parking spots, but also backs the vehicle into spots while the driver controls the brakes, gas and shifting.
