What's' New For the 2019 Ford Edge?

By 2019, the Ford Edge had achieved a midway point in its second production cycle. This is evidenced by the midsize crossover SUV's major refresh; it now has more standard and optional features than ever before. Plus, while previous second-gen models had the Sport as the top-of-the-line trim, the 2019 Ford Edge has the ST.

Ford Edge has Four Trims & Countless Features for 2019

The 2019 Ford Edge is split into four trim levels: SE, SEL, Titanium, and ST. With two rows of seats to accommodate up to five people, the Edge supplies a total interior volume of 153.1 cubic feet, with 39.2 cubic feet of it dedicated to cargo volume.

Base-level comfort and convenience features include cruise control, remote keyless entry with push-button engine start, a Wi-Fi hotspot for 4G LTE Internet access, an auto-dimming rearview mirror, FordPass remote access with your smartphone, the SYNC infotainment system, six-speaker audio, AM/FM radio, a USB port for charging smartphones, and a trial subscription to SiriusXM satellite radio. At the SEL trim level, the Edge is upgraded with premium cloth seat trim, a 10-way power-adjustable driver's seat, a 6-way power-adjustable front passenger seat, a leather-wrapped steering wheel, dual-zone automatic climate control, and the SYNC 3 infotainment system.

At the Titanium trim level, the Edge gets leather seat trim, 10-way power adjustability (instead of 6-way power) on the front passenger seat, front-seat heating ability, a driver-seat memory system, a rear-seat back release feature known as EasyFold, an additional USB port, two driver-configurable 4.2-inch LCD displays in the instrument cluster, and a 12-speaker Bang & Olufsen premium audio system. Unique to the ST trim are Miko inserts in the leather seat trim, a perforated leather-wrapped steering wheel with silver stitching and an "ST" logo, a garage-door opener, remote start, and a wireless charging pad.

2019 Ford Edge Performance

2019 Ford Edge Exterior FrontIf you go with the SE, SEL, or Titanium trim of the 2019 Ford Edge, you will get a twin-scroll turbocharged 2.0-liter EcoBoost inline 4-cylinder engine that generates 245 horsepower and 275 lb-ft of torque. Only the ST trim gets a twin-turbocharged 2.7-liter EcoBoost V6, which produces 335 horsepower and 380 lb-ft of torque. Each engine has auto stop-start technology to shut it down when coming to a complete stop and turn it back on when you resume driving; this eliminates engine idling and consequently boosts fuel efficiency. Tied to each engine is an 8-speed automatic transmission, which includes a brand-new rotary gear shifter. Front-wheel drive is standard on the SE, SEL, and Titanium; and all-wheel drive is standard on the ST. However, you can opt for the all-wheel drivetrain on the non-ST trims.

Packed with Safety Features
