What's New For The 2019 Ford Expedition?

For years, the Expedition has been one of the most popular Ford vehicles, and it's consistently been a best-seller among SUVs. You wouldn't think that Ford needed to change much about its beloved SUV to keep fans happy, but nevertheless it outfits the Expedition with graceful updates and improvements for the latest model year. In 2019, the Expedition gets a refined, more elegant look as soft curves and rounded edges replace its linear shape to create a less boxy look.

This SUV can seat up to eight passengers, and it has the latest in modern technology. There is more than enough cargo space in the trunk with just the base model, and you get even more cargo capacity with the extended-length edition. Now that it's even better than before, the latest Expedition certainly looks to follow suit.

Three Trims with Rich Interior Features for 2019

The 2019 Expedition comes in three trim levels, which are the XLT, the Limited, and the Platinum. The base model XLT features bucket-style, cloth-covered standard seats with the option to get heated and ventilated leather-trimmed seats instead. In the second row, a split-bench design helps the seats fold flat when they're not in use. Air conditioning comes standard in the XLT with separate temperature controls in the front and back rows. A cabin air filter helps to keep the air pure and clean. Information, connectivity, and entertainment come in the form of the SYNC system, which is a voice-activated infotainment system that offers phone connectivity, satellite radio, and a total of nine speakers for rich sound.

The Limited builds on the base model's amenities with even more standard features. HD radio comes standard in this trim level and up, and it has a higher-end sound system. Heated, ventilated, and leather-trimmed seats come standard in this trim level, as do power-folding and sliding seats in the second row. The second row features heated outboard seats, while the third row gets power-folding headrests on all seats. The driver's seat and passenger's seat can both move in 10 ways, and they also offer lumbar support. A center storage console with an armrest and 15 cupholders throughout the cabin complete the Limited trim's amenities.

If you want all the works, the Platinum is a good trim level to consider. This trim gives you standard 22-inch wheels, a more powerful 12-speaker sound system, a leather-wrapped steering wheel, a standard WiFi connection, and front parking sensors that make it easier to avoid objects in the way. The infotainment system in this trim is a larger eight-inch screen, and there is a separate 4.2-inch driver display screen. The Platinum also has a hands-free liftgate that makes loading and unloading cargo much easier.
