What's New for the 2019 Ford Taurus?

For 2019, Ford has focused on what people have known and loved about the Taurus for years. This vehicle will be part of the generation that launched back in 2010 and was revitalized in 2013. One change this year is the addition of a black exterior paint color. The Limited trim of the Taurus is also getting blind-spot monitoring as a standard safety feature.

Which Trims & Features are Available for 2019?

For 2019, there are four trims of the Taurus to choose from. The base model is called the SE and it is only available in front-wheel-drive. Next up are the SEL and Limited trims, each of which has both front-wheel and all-wheel-drive options. Finally, the top-of-the-line Taurus trim is the SHO, which only comes with all-wheel-drive. No matter what trim you decide to go with, you will have plenty of room to comfortably seat 5.

In fact, the Taurus has very generous dimensions for a sedan. With a passenger volume of 102.2 cubic feet, everyone can stretch out. When it comes to hauling groceries or your gear, there is plenty of room in the 20.1 cubic feet of cargo space in the trunk.

Even the base trim of this vehicle has many luxurious details. Noted exterior features on the SE include LED tail lights, 18-inch wheels, power-folding side mirrors, solar tinted glass, and dual chrome-tipped exhaust vents. Drivers also get keyless entry, a rearview camera, and a six-speaker sound system.

At the other end of the scale there is the SHO, which comes with standard features such as high-density discharge headlamps, aluminum pedal covers, a sport-tuned suspension, and a rear decklid spoiler.

Ford set out to make the 2019 Taurus very user-friendly. One of the major ways they accomplished this was through the SYNC 3 system. This voice integrated system allows you to use Apple Carplay and/or Android Auto with your compatible smartphone. Drivers can also choose to add navigation to this system, allowing them to easily find nearby amenities and attractions.

The Limited and SHO trims add some luxury features to keep you riding comfortably all year round. They both feature heated and cooled front seats standard. Drivers also get a heated steering wheel. Unlike many vehicles, the Taurus doesn't leave out the rear passengers, as the top two trims feature heated back seats.
