Ford Vehicle Service Warning Indicators
When a dashboard warning light comes on in your Ford, how often do you know what the warning is telling you? Ten different warning signs that you should know about your vehicle’s performance include some of the following.

Airbag Fault
If this indicator stays on after your vehicle has started moving, you may have a problem with your airbag or restraint system. An inspection of this system is recommended so you have peace of mind knowing that you and your family are safe while on the road.

Low Fuel Level Warning Light
If you’re running on the very last of your fuel tank, your indicator light will let you know that it’s time to head to the gas station.

Oil Pressure Warning Light
This is an indicator for low oil pressure. Pull your vehicle over to a safe spot where you can inspect the level of oil in your engine. If you notice that your oil level is adequate and the indicator light doesn’t go off, you’ll need to seek the assistance of a professional.

Service Vehicle Soon
This service indicator is just a reminder to schedule the routine maintenance that your Ford needs periodically. Most models will alert you every 5,000 miles or so.

TPMS (Tire Pressure Monitoring System)
Low tire pressure can come about from a slow leak, cold weather, or just frequent use. Once you add air to your tires, the light should go off after you’ve driven approximately one mile. If the light stays on, there could be a problem with your tire pressure sensors.

Slip Indicator
This dashboard light should only remain on when your Vehicle Stability Control and/or Traction Control systems are functioning. If the light doesn’t go off on its own, you may have a malfunction that is related to these systems.

Charging System Warning Light
A number of problems can take place with your charging system that would result in a dashboard light being illuminated. Some of the problems could be a broken fan belt or faulty wiring. Don’t continue driving your vehicle. Look for assistance from Grapevine Ford service center.

Brake System
An issue with your antilock braking system won’t result in your brakes shutting down, but you should head to your nearest service center for help. This isn’t an indicator light that you want to ignore due to safety concerns.

Open Door Warning Light
It’s easy to shut your trunk or car doors without them latching the right way. If you didn’t notice that this took place, your dashboard indicator light will come on to alert you that you’ll need to do a once-over of your doors before continuing with your drive.

Coolant Level Warning
Your sensor system might be malfunctioning, or you might not have enough coolant in your system. Regardless of the source of the problem, you need to pull your vehicle to the side of the road. Overheating your engine can be catastrophic.
